Step 2: Learn the differences and similarities between doctors and veterinarians

So now that you know what a veterinarian is, let's look a the differences and similarities between doctors and veterinarians! Where do dogs go when they have an eye issue? What about cows with hurt legs? And where do people go when they have an eye issue or hurt legs? What are the similarities and differences in the equipment that doctors and vets use? And how does their training compare?

Interview a doctor and a veterinarian. Ask both of them the same questions. Compare and contrast their answers. How does each of them spend their day? What's normal for the doctor and how does that differ from what's normal for the veterinarian? Get as creative and you'd like with your questions!

Crossword puzzle. Read the information about human and veterinary specialists on the Activity Resources page and then complete the "Veterinarians Help Care for Animals in Many Ways" crossword puzzle from the AVMA.
